Notes: Sophie is a beautiful little Persian female that was rescued just in the nick of time from a local shelter. Sophie is an absolute delight to have, sweet, affectionate, very playful, and so friendly with all my cats. Sophie loves to jump on my lap for naps and will settle down on my computers keyboard meowing with her funny little voice demanding my attention. She sleeps somewhere on my bed every night and comes for love and kisses once in a while. Sophie has suffered from IBD (Irritable bowel syndrome, which causes her to have diarrhea) for all her life. Her prior owners decided it was too much of a hassle to find the right diet for this sweetie pie and heartlessly dumped her at the shelter, probably knowing that a cat with diarrhea issues often won't make it out alive at most animal shelters. When Sophie came to Helping Persian Cats and her foster home she weighed a shocking 3 lbs 14 ounces. She is so tiny and delicate that you would think she is a kitten, not a young 3 year old. But things are looking really good for Sophie. She is now stable on a all canned diet, its not prescription and can be bought at better Pet stores or ordered online. She will need to be kept on this canned diet and can't have any other food (NOT EVEN A TINY BIT, and especially NO dry food), which would upset her delicate stomach and cause her to have diarrhea again. Sophie still needs to put on a bit more weight, but will be ready soon. We do accept applications for Sophie, if you are willing to wait just a little longer for this little treasure, to be completely healthy and ready for her new forever home. She is a truly special cat!
